Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This website is operated by Strategeia Mediterranea Ltd, a private intelligence and behavioural risk advisory practice based in Nicosia, Republic of Cyprus ('we', 'us', 'our'). We are the Data Controller for personal data collected through this website.

Contact: info@strategeiamediterranea.com

This policy covers data collected through website visits and enquiry submissions only.

2. What Data We Collect and Why

2.1  Enquiry and Contact Forms

When you submit an enquiry through our website or contact us by email, we collect:

— Your name and professional details (as provided)

— Your email address and any other contact information you include

— The content of your message or request

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, assess whether we may be able to assist, and — where a professional relationship develops — to manage that relationship.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, our legitimate interest in responding to professional enquiries and developing our client base, which is not overridden by your interests where you have voluntarily contacted us.

2.2  Website Analytics

We may collect technical information about how visitors use our website, including pages visited, time spent, referring source, browser type, and device type. Where this is done through cookies or similar tracking technologies, we request your consent before placing non-essential cookies (see Section 4).

Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for non-essential analytics cookies. Legitimate interests for aggregated, anonymised analytics that do not identify individuals.

2.3  Server Logs

Our web hosting provider automatically collects standard server log data, including IP addresses and access timestamps. This data is used solely for security monitoring and technical operation of the website. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — maintaining the security and integrity of our website.

3. How Long We Keep Your Data

Enquiry submissions and associated correspondence are retained for two (2) years from the date of last meaningful contact. If a client or advisory relationship develops, your data will be retained in accordance with our Business Privacy Policy (available on request), which applies standard professional retention periods.

Server log data is retained for a maximum of ninety (90) days and then deleted. Analytics data, where collected, is retained in aggregated or anonymised form only.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies in the following categories:

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function. They do not collect personal information and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to your actions (for example, setting privacy preferences or logging in to a secure area, if applicable). No consent is required for these cookies.

Analytics and Performance Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. They collect information in an aggregated form that does not directly identify anyone. We will only place these cookies with your consent.

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality such as remembering your preferences. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some services may not function correctly.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a new cookie is set. Please note that restricting cookies may affect the functionality of this website.

Where we use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or equivalent services), those providers process data under their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. We will identify any such third-party tools in our cookie consent notice and provide links to their policies. We configure such tools to anonymise IP addresses wherever possible.

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share your data with:

— Our web hosting and infrastructure providers, solely for the purpose of operating this website, under appropriate data processing agreements

— Third-party analytics providers, where you have consented to analytics cookies

— Legal or regulatory authorities, where we are required to do so by law

All third-party processors we engage are required to process data only on our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection law.

6. Your Rights

As a visitor to our website and a person whose data we may process, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

— Access — to request a copy of personal data we hold about you

— Rectification — to request correction of inaccurate data

— Erasure — to request deletion of your data where there is no compelling reason for continued processing

— Restriction — to request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances

— Objection — to object to processing based on legitimate interests

— Portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable

— Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, to withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@strategeiamediterranea.com, marking your message 'Data Request'. We will respond within one (1) calendar month.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our server.

No method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure. If you have security concerns about communicating with us online, you are welcome to contact us by telephone instead.

8. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any external site before submitting personal information.

9. Supervisory Authority

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully or have not adequately addressed your concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

If you are located in another EU member state, you may also contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this website privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will make this clear on the website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
